There are also numerous soccer fields, baseball, and softball fields in Fremont where a lot of youth sports take part in conference games, tournaments, or intermural participation.

Greckel Farms – Bloomfield, Nebraska
Our family dates back to 1891 when our great great grandparents settled here
on 887 Road, north of Bloomfield Nebraska. The farm has always had cattle and horses roaming
in the pastures along with many different crops being grown, year after year.
The most popular to the public is our Registered Clydesdale herd. Shane purchased Ted at a local sale barn before he met his wife, Kate. It was Kate that was insistent that they show Ted the Clydesdale at the Iowa State Fair in the draft horse show (Kate grew up exhibiting at the Iowa State Fair... It's one of the best fairs in the nation!). After the first show, Shane purchased a younger mare, Jenny from Lincoln Nebraska.
From then on, Shane and Kate have been able to show together.
The Clydesdale herd has expanded to a breeding operation along with training and offering breeding to outside mares. We have three broodmares, Katy and June who are full sisters and Registered Clydesdales. Red, our 2020 Thoroughbred mare is also a broodmare for the Sport Horse cross. Finn, the 2016 Registered Clydesdale Stallion is a great proven producer and is very easy on the eyes! He has the brains, the looks, and the moves to throw high quality foals. Check out our Clydesdale page for pictures and more information on our horse herd.

MJDC Stables - Fremont, NE
MJDC Stables - Fremont, NE
MJDC Stables began as a family program promoting our son’s dream to be number one in the National Pinto Horse Assn Youth Program during the last two years of high school. We traveled over a number of states showing our pintos to that end meeting a lot of Pinto friends along the way. From one of those friends, we purchased an overo stallion, “Opinionated” and as a family, we promoted him and his 50 PtHA point earning off-spring. After his death, “Opinionated” was placed on the PtHA Wall of Fame in 2012.
MJDC was successful in exhibiting horses that were either end-of-year high point winners both at the state and national level. A number of horse owners remember showing against horses such as “Second Opinion”; “Oileos Opinion”; “Fragile Opinion”; “Jack Daniels Opinion”; “Biased Opinion” (Oliver); “Significant Opinion” (Kelsey); “Derby Day Opinion”; and “Opinionated Sioux”, these were just to name a few. The most recent honor received by our barn was a gelding, “Teddys Best Playboy” (Hobo) was awarded the PtHA Superior Halter Award, (over 1,000 halter points) one of ten horses in the history of PtHA to win this award. This horse has well over 2,000 performance points and has had many state high point awards.
In addition, we have had a number of boarding horses that have been in the winner’s circle and are proud to say they began at MJDC
